Sorry, I should have said, i can only imagine whats its like when you have proper money on it.

I wonder, whats his exit strategy? Is there even one? I only ever see the cash on the back side. Although that's not to say he hasn't been at work on the lay side. I just haven't noticed it.

To be frank my biggest loss of today was my own fault, which in a perverse way was pleasing because at least I can recognize my mistake and try to not repeat it. With this guy its like the ball is taken out of my hands.

He doesn't have an exit strategy, but the markets do tend have their own way of reacting to him that you can learn and try and take advantage from. The thing about trading is that there are always different bizarre things happening that you have to learn to react to. Might not be straighforward but at least it makes things interesting!

Id prefer it a bit duller personally. Wish the cowson would give up gambling (which I don’t approve of  ). He’s been wrong footing me all day. Wish he get into Ferrari’s or Aston martins and waste his money on them instead of gambling.

Guys... it really is my fault, sorry. You know... everytime I try something new it works for 2 days and on the third one it cracks me. You can guess which day was today... I haven't been able to predict (I guess from your answers that most of you have been in my same situation) much good price movements today. Everytime I jumped in... it reversed. Some got caught by the friendly guy, some my own mistakes... Awful, awful day.

Hope you have managed today better than I have! Cheers!

I think in this case someone with a huge bank decided to go up against him, maybe hedging with SP

I love the way the commentator on this one noted how it had been shortened up - 'I thought this one was overpriced, looks like they're having a nibble' - as if it's smart money!

I think these spikes etc just show how weak the Betfair markets really are. £10,000 sometimes more really isn't that much money yet it can cause a huge change in odds and the market often is unable to absorb the bet.

It also makes you wonder where the big layers are? Surely something that was trading at near 7.0 and now is now about 4.5 is HUGE value yet they aren't interested in laying it most of the time. Surely this should be like all their Christmas's coming at once :!: :?:

Also I think it is very interesting that often the market doesn't recover to where it was pre spike.

It all points to me that almost all of the money in these markets on Betfair is just traders who are not willing to take on these orders as any outright pro punter should be taking chunks out of these spikes.

Also it just shows how easy it really is to manipulate the markets if you so wished.

Or have I missed something?

Hi

Have noticed it is plunging and then a second and a third time who ever is doing this they could'nt give me a ring just before bombing the pond could they.

Could it be people two or three in cahoots sharing the risk?
