I notice there's growing interest in Mexico as potential outsiders

Given the heat and the humidity the nation who are cleverly tactics will without doubt be of high interests. There are a few teams that have shown a good tactical and mexico is one of them. England for example wasted too much energy and did not achieve a result. Even South Korea without having much in the front to score they have shown outstanding tactical but also wasted too much energy. This is very important because of the brazilian weather conditions. Mexico is already one foot there as they planned the 2 games quite well.

Spain out!

They started the tournament at 1.27 for group winners and 1.12 to qualify for the second round.

Defending Champions Spain are the 1st country to be eliminated from the outright betting market - you would have got a massive price on that happening

Some cracking football being played, entertaining, lots of goals, really good stuff! Australia versus Netherland in particular was a good one.

Spain out, they were an ageing overhyped team...we all should have layed them from the start, of course its easy to spot these things in retrospect, yes, I was silly enough to pick them.

So for backs, look to the up-and-coming teams with good potential that are still under-rated. I'd say England, Chile, Netherlands all fit the bill.

Despite the fact that England lost to Italy, I thought England actually played pretty well in that game and were a bit unlucky not to get a draw at least. I thought the England team does have potential. Chile look to be a very strong South American team that might continue to surprise everyone and go far. Netherlands, well, they are still on the up.

What chance Australia to send Spain home without a win?

If Cahill was playing I would be more confident.

Australian bookmaker Beteasy gave all it's customers a free $50 win bet on all of Australia's games. No strings attached.

They gave $13 against Spain. Currently $8.2 on the exchange.

To let in run or lay off?

When Spain used to start strong they never won anything but since they starting slow they get better as the tournament progress. Chile in the other hand has nothing to lose but a draw for them will be as good as winning, leaving Spain with 1 point is like sending them home anyway..Good luck and enjoy the cracking games ahead..
I am liking this tournament so much..you judge why!!!

I've been using http://fivethirtyeight.com/interactives/world-cup/

Spain was ranked (from memory) as a 33% chance for last nights game, not the 1.8 or so it started at.

Screamed a value lay to me, and didn't it pay.

And I've hopped into Brazil big time. FiveThirtyEight says they should be around 3 for the win. So well over 4 seems like big value to me. Brazil drifted out after Mexico (why I don't know). I'll hedge out through the knocks outs and if Brazil makes the final, well I'll just sit back and relax.
