Morning,
Just a quick question for the BA support Guys/Peter:

If a simple back or lay command was created in excel and replicated in Guardian Automation, would either method be consistently faster in terms of placing the bet? (even if its just milliseconds)
Thanks
regards
Peter

We haven't tested it, but I would assume the Excel bet placement would be fractionally slower due to the inter-process communications layer that's required when linking the two applications. However in practice, any extra time would be so tiny that I doubt one method would reliably beat the other. The jitter on the internet connection between Bet Angel and Betfair's servers would be much more significant.

Thanks for that; I would have thought Guardian would be slightly faster.
When I get chance Ill compare on a live market and check the bet ref id's to gain a view

Findings:
Guardian is slightly faster than Excel..but not necessarily better ie more profit.. (nor does a direct comparison using same parameters etc result in the same number of transactions when compared across two accounts).. ;)

I was wondering where support could just explain whether the guardian automation is sequential (ie it checks each rule one at a time) or are they checked/executed in parallel?
Thanks

Depends what you mean by integration..
I currently have them both running side by side quite happily

thanks for the reply Peterle.

I want to be able to trigger some trades using automation when excel gives the say so.

Im trying to keep my excel sheet as light as posssible.

So for example: if Im tracking volume at a particular price in excel, I would want excel to trigger a bet in automation when the sheet tells me to instead of sending the bet through excel itself?
I hope that makes sense. :D

Hi
Only way I can think off is to fire in a lay bet at 1.01 and then use the unmatched bets trigger in guradian some way?
Regards
Peter
