I've been meaning to ask a question about traded amounts shown in Betangel.
When you get large bets placed they are often not the same in the BA graphs as they are in the Betfair graph.
For example the 1st race today at Kelso someone laid 4900 on the favorite Thorpe at about 3 (shown in the green spike at the bottom of the BA standard charts). but i looked at the BF graph and it showed at nearly 7000.
Then shortly after when FREDERIC had drifted up to nearly 5 someone laid that for over 8000, but on the matched volume in the ladder there was less than 7000 showing and in the BA graph it only showed a bet of about 5200.
Whats going on or am i getting my wires crossed?
Cheers
John

I would suspect it is to do with the time frames. An extreme example:
Each bar on the BA graph represents 1 second
Each bar on the BF graph represents 1 minute
If over the course of the 60 seconds, every second there are 100 x £1,000 bets matched, on the BA graph you will get 100 bars showing as £1,000 matched.
On the BF chart you will get one bar showing £100,000 matched.
Both are correct but just showing the information slightly differently.

Interesting to see the figures quoted. I placed a small football bet last week before any other bets had been placed on the market. My bet was £60 for a home win and on the market graph it immediately came up showing that £120 had been matched. Presumably £60 for the back bet and £60 for the lay bet. Was this me misunderstanding the bar charts?
