I am interested to know what styles of trading and types of markets other traders like to trade. I am talking specifically about UK pre race markets but if ye trade others that's of interest too.
What I mean is there a specific type of market ye look for eg: a market where there are maybe only one two or three horses attracting money and therefore theoretically easier to predict ? Personally I find if there are 4 or more runners around the same odds its very difficult to predict price action on any one
Do you normally focus on trading the favourite (which attracts most of the volume) of are you trading perhaps several runners in one market ?
Are there any types of races or markets you would avoid ?

I personally like short races 5FL and very short favourites. 5FL because there is more uncertainty for the market makers compared to a 3 mile race where they could hold a price for a long time, where as a short race it is fast and hectic.
I also like very short favourites like the one tonight at 2.10 i think UK time. Started at 1.10ish and moved in a few ticks. There is only so far the price can be pushed and held at these prices so if you position yourself nicely with a number of positions in the market, you can always be in a good position if you are quick and leave people with big exposure because at the end of the day someone has to manage the risk they are taking by holding a price at 1.05ish and you can set up your position to be able to get out still even if it moves against your opening positions. This is harder at say 1.8 because they could move it 20 ticks if they wanted to.
That's my thoughts anyway as the races I like but Ill have a bash at owt! First in last out!
