Hi all

I'm returning after a long gap. Am I right in thinking that with the new API the old minimum bet of £2.00 now no longer applies?

This would mean that it is now better to test new strategies in the live system for very small amounts of money than to use the practice mode.

I never liked the practice mode as it doesn't seem real somehow not winning or losing.

Thanks in advance

The limit applies for most situations but via Excel you can use below the minimum.

Just be aware Betfair can pick up on this and may stop bets. They tend to use the phrase "at their discretion" in the rules which is a basic cover all statement.

It was for use with Excel but I might have guessed that Betfair would give with one hand and take away with the other.

Many thanks for your help, its much appreciated

FYI, we changed this recently to allow sub minimum betting everywhere on the application. But it's not allowed de factor by Betfair so we still have to do this workaround to make it happen. That often confuses people, but it's still the only way to do it. It can lead to the odd error. So you need to be aware of that.
