Not sure how/why but used guardian automation on Sunday and BF charged me £11 . Is there a recommended setting which can avoid such charges ?

You just beat me to it Peter..
I was going to say drop an email to the betfair helpdesk and ask then what the charges were for.
(Could be tx charges? : They still have the 1000 bets an hour (Although i often go over this with no charges).

Full T&C's are here:-

Probably just left an order in the market with keep at inplay or something similar. I've lost a plenty over the years due to silly mistakes such as this.

£19 for what?

I notice further up the thread Peter asked you what the charges were for, and you didn't reply

BF helpdesk advise all charges are due to number of bets submitted in an hour. Need advise as to likely cause and more importantly how to prevent a recurrence. Never happened before after a year auto trading with Guardian and I am only a small player so charges seem very disproportionate.

Transaction charges, OK

You say you're a small player, you do know that when BA places a bet under £2 it counts as 2 bets?

If you back 50p on a horse, BA needs to place £2 at 1000. Then add another 50p, cancel the original order and change the 50p onto the price you want

This counts as 2 transactions. If you do this 5 times across the board on a 12 runner race = 120 bets.

You are obviously exceeding 1000 transactions in 1 hour, and your stake levels might be contributing to this

Thanks not sure how to avoid charges in future might have to look at swing trades rather than scalping

To get the 19 charge in one hour you needed to trigger 2900 bets in the hour plus a bit more probably given you should have generated some commission).

In my experience that is a lot.

Perhaps you are placing a lot of microbets?
