Hi guys,

I've been trading the racing for a few months and I am finding certain markets difficult to trade.

I look for swing trading opportunities and I'm doing pretty well at trading clear favourites and also when there are two close-priced horses under 3.0. In the latter in particular you tend to get pretty big swings and the two often oppose each other.

The problem markets for me are where you have two or three horses trading between 3.0 and 4.5. I find these difficult to get right. Once volume hits the market it can appear as one horse is being backed only for it to reverse and another horse starts coming in. Or sometimes both market leaders appear to be coming in together and it seems impossible to know which one will keep coming in and which will not.

I'm thinking instead of looking for big steamers or drifters maybe I should be looking for reversals and collecting a few tickets profit each time as opposed to looking for a big price movement which is my usual style.

Any advise on how to approach these markets would be appreciated.

Cheers
Craig

There are quite a few markets that are very difficult to trade. Even the top traders will sit out a market that they cannot see an opportunity in. I would suggest if you do want to get involved in these type of markets using smaller stakes
