Does anyone know if screen scraping is allowed on betfair? Under the terms it says: Screen scraping, web scraping or any other automated or manual collection of Betfair Data, for commercial use by any person and/or for any use by a Restricted Person, is expressly prohibited.
When they say commercial use do they mean for gathering information and selling it on like Fracsoft do? Im just wanting to get price information a couple of times a second for my own personal bot. I realise they have a free API but for the strategy I want to test I am thinking that it would probably end up being more complicated and harder to implement.
If anyone has any thoughts or could point me to a source of further information that would be greatly appreciated.

The API is very to use so I recommend learning how to use it especially if you are going to be sending lots of requests but if you plan on scraping a few prices then just go for it.
This thread should help as it gives you the url to get json data similar to the API but I believe it will be delayed unless you are logged in:
