How accurate is practise mode?

I have been testing an automation sequence in practise mode, laying horses as they drift.

It has been reasonably successful i.e it is in profit after 3 weeks and very few losing days.

I have only been using £10 stakes.

Can I be reasonably confident that I would have got the same results in live mode or am I heading for another disappointment?

Considering you're only using small stakes it should be pretty representative of the live market. It's when using large stakes that Practice mode is unable to model the real market, because a live market would normally react to the arrival of hundreds of pounds as other traders spot the new money and adjust their positions accordingly.

Practise mode 119 races 102 wins 85.71% strike rate potential win using £10 stake £534

Live mode 49 races 32 wins 65.3% strike rate loss using £5 stake -£65 (-£135 £10 stake).

Am I just exceptionally unlucky?

50 races is not going to give you a acurate overview of any stratergy, idealy you need several hundred races before you begin to get a true picture if its going to be profitable long term

It really depends what you are doing as well. Some things are more realistic that others.
