Any chance we could get a chat room on this forum?

We did have one but nobody used it so it fell by the wayside. Happy to start one up again if it gets some use.

Mid-April will be the best time to re-start it Peter.

This will mean we can share our delight at Pompey's relegation with everyone else

I just thought it would be good with all these meetings off and longer breaks then normal in between races, bit more time to chat, I guess if you tried it before and nobody used it then no point.

Suggest the traffic on this site is more than when chat room was last in place - so could be better supported.

Perhaps a trial re-introduction around an event might a good idea to test the water. Cheltenham could be a good place to start on the Racing front, maybe the Carling cup for footie? :)

Good idea! timing is about right, traffic does seem up
so interest should be well supported! like a lot of things in life it will need time to mature, but it will especially if the experienced traders offer views that prove to be correct!

I'm not convinced it will be used a lot by horse traders as these markets come thick and fast and it is likely to be a distraction from trading.

However, for other slower paced markets like football, cricket, tennis, NFL etc it could be useful and well used.

Andy think you are right on busy days hence suggestion re Cheltenham as a starting point - on first day of meet Sedg and South also on but most of the Chelt markets can be traded earlier than normal due to the Volume and may offer chances to chat.

Also thinking that on days where the racing is either disrupted due to the weather or anyother reason (loose horse, dangerous ground, lack of water at the course!) would be quicker than posting to the forum. Also lots of gaps to fill in the Evening markets! ;)

FYI, We have put up a chat room here over the weekend: -

If it gets used well then we will consider putting up an improved offering. But it's there now if you want to use it.
