Thought we could have a dedicated Skrill thread.

I am using Skrill quite a bit .. especially as I have heard some traders have had their bank accounts arbitrarily closed, for having too much gambling activity going thru their accounts.

I made a withdrawal from both Betdaq and Betfair this morning.

The funds from Betdaq arrived with 2 hrs, Betfair, 2 hrs later. Both are v acceptable.

Skrill offer a prepaid mastercard .. so, rather than transferring profits to a bank account .. u could spend stuff/withdraw cash on the card, at ATM's // or fund other Bookmakers/exchanges.

Unless u were making really vast profits, the actual need for a bank account, would be quite small .. which, cant be bad.

Anyone, ever have any bad experiences ?

I joined just before it was re-branded from moneybookers and have never had any issues with them, It s the only transfer company I still use and fully trust.

From memory, I could never find a phone number, there was no live chat and I couldn't even find a contact email for them!

I've used them a few times in the past and not had a problem but the lack of contactability always made me wary.

I have been using them for about 4 years with no real problems BUT they have recently had a security problem and some customers have lost a fair bit of cash,I also object to the £2.50 ish cost to withdraw to my own bank so now I use PayPal much more as they don't charge me at all, quite right too.
Those withdrawal costs mount up and that has pee'd me off a lot lately as somebody with a small betting/trading bank.

at the moment I have a problem with them. contacted support on the 6th and did not get any reply yet apart from service automated message. So you make your judgement about their customer service. Just sent them a second email.
btw the used to be cheaper. now they charge more for transactions.

Just to back up the previous poster, their customer service is terrible unless you phone them. Phoning up seems to be the only way to get matters corrected and its usually sorted quickly but in this fast paced email based society it seems an outdated way to do your business.
I also get the impression the call centre is staffed by people with English as a second or third language,Europeans like French speakers etc.

Ive never had any real problems, like I said in an earlier post but they do seem a pain to get in touch with.

indeed it was resolved only by phone in the end.

I've used Skrill for many years never had any issues with CS but perhaps that's because I have VIP status.
Please get their authentification fob though as it safeguards fraud, when I didn't have it some Albanian stole 4k from my account.
