Earlier today I moaned about a race being run incredibly slow.

If you watch the video below it will show you how I calculate a race comparison.

This is a piece of software I have developed that allows me to compare a race without the hassle of having track going conditions having an impact.

(It is my standard times gem, still about 6 months away from finishing them)

What I actually do is much complex but this is a basic format to show.

I find the race I want to know more about. Today it was the 3.10 at Lingfield. I now need to find another race where there is a race exact the same on another date for the same track.

So for example the 3.10 Claiming stakes (Class 6) (3yo) 1m2f Standard
there is also the 4.20 handicap (Class 6) (0-65, 4yo+) (6f1y) 6f Standard.

Now if we search back we can see on the 19th of feb 2014. The both exact same races where raced. Now i can compare them

Watch the video and you will see how I compare a race.

Today the the 3.10 very slow race there was a 0.657263319 difference.
Where as the same two comparisons in 2014 where 0.554573.

There is a huge difference. I know from other factors that the standard between these exact 2 is about is actually 0.545356. You can now see how shit that race was.

I use this software for many different reasons. The main reason is to compare standard times without the hassle of the track going conditions ever being in the way.
