Loaning Money

Over the years, I have been asked by a few people, to loan them a stake etc.

Usually .. like 80% of the time, it ends badly, so, would caution everyone, who is ever, asked, to regard to 'loan' as a gift.

Where a 'well-known' high stakes poker player .. Eli Elezra, reportedly owes tons around town. Really, its sad .. but, a lot of gamblers/sports traders are degens.

The cashflow in poker is absolutely crazy, a friend of mine worked for Full Tilt in their Dublin offices before the US clampdown a few years ago.

Himself and the people in their area used to go and get a roll on their break, cup of tea/coffee, and watch the high stakes/celeb tables. At the time Gus Hansen was theeeeee guy people wanted to play against, and there was a queue in the 20's or 30's of people lining up to play heads up against him at a 10k table. I asked how he did overall and the answer was vague, some days he'd be up 400k, some days he'd be down 400k.

At present time, the mentioned player hasn't played much this year but is in the red to 20.7 as his stats show:
