Hi, just starting to explore the Rules facility and would like a confirmation that I have a few things right.

1. You can only have one 'container' of Rules per event (to use Peter Webb's definition) so if you want to do two or more things during an event you need to create what I will call a Compound Container of multiple Rule Sets and be extra careful of rule contradictions and interactions. For example, if a rule contains a Green-up instruction then all bets will be greened-up as per the instruction and not just those placed by a particular rule.

2. This means you have to be extra careful when using BA with rules and maybe placing individual bets on selections where you are actually betting for them to win (or not) because your individual bets will also be greened-up if placed before the green-up Rule regardless of whether placed through BA, the Betfair Website or by any other means.

Just want to make sure I'm on the right lines before I start to tackle the logic. :)

Thanks Dallas, it's good to know I'm on the right track. May I take it a little further ... Am I also correct in thinking I can only install BA once on a computer but I can run multiple sessions in parallel i.e. open it 2 or 3 or more times?

I tried this and it seemed to work but there was some confusion over which markets were open in each Guardian ... was it the BA/Guardian sessions getting confused or me because I couldn't see a way to link/ID each open Guardian window with each session of BA running and maybe mixed up market selection!

The alternative being that I can install and run it on many computers if I have more than one available.

You can install and use BA on as many computers as you want using the same login details and open as many instance's on each as you want, but as you have said it can get confusing over which guardian or window belongs to which instance so the more you have open the more organized you need to be.

Here's a program that can help you with multiple instances of BA -> http://getmdesktop.com/

Just run one instance of BA on Virtual Desktop 1, then switch to Virtual Desktop 2 and run another instance there and so on.

With ALT+1, ALT+2, ALT+3, ... you switch then between the Virtual Desktops (instances) - simple and clean ;)
