Hi all
I started paper trading the footie yesterday and had 3 nice wins (albeit imaginary money)
Woke up today and had a day to myself so sat in front of the pc for a day paper trading the football..

Here is how it went...

Arsenal V Stoke backed 1-1 before the match 100@8 then the first goal went in and I layed [email protected] - profit 25

St Johnstone V Celtic backed 1-1 before the match [email protected] after first goal layed [email protected] - profit 105.89

Scunthorpe V Man City backed 1-1 100@10 went tits up as Man C scored first layed [email protected] loss -13.04
Undeterred backed 1-2 [email protected] layed [email protected] - profit 53.57 (total profit for this match 40.60)

Falkirk V Dundee backed 1-1 100@7 layed [email protected] - profit 12.92

Angola V Ghana backed 1-1 [email protected] layed [email protected] - profit - 28.31

Getafe V Madrid backed 1-1 100@7 layed [email protected] - profit 12.90 carried on for a 2-1 backed [email protected] (stuck on 1 goal and price went out) layed [email protected] - loss -27.61 (loss this match -14.69)

Inter V AC Milan backed 1-1 [email protected] layed 144@5 - profit 44.00

Genk V Club Bruge backed 1-1 100@7 (stayed at 0-0) layed [email protected] - loss -14.59

Total profit today 227.44

My "idea" was to back 1-1 and when a goal goes in the price shortens (except for Scunthorpe V Man City) to allow the lay.
The dabbles in the 2-1 & 1-2 market were to allow another goal to be scored and still be in a comfort buffer (worked once, didnt the other)

Is my "idea" about backing 1-1 and laying after a goal good or bad.
I was going to try the 0-0 but feared a goal going in early and wiping the bet out before the odds had come down for the lay and figured 1-1 gave me a buffer for that 1st goal. ( I know its only paper trading but I dont want to sink even if imaginary)

Hi Jamie,

Looks like you are doing something right anyway & you may want to see this thread viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1054

With the 1-1 strategy I think you need to pick the matches carefully.
1.Try to avoid the possible 0-0's (easier said than done)
2.Pick matches where the Home & Away are close in odds (i.e Draw outsider of 3)
3.Ideally the better team are the away team
I have found that gives about 30 mins of stability at 0-0 to 'escape' if no goal up to then.

good luck
Ben
