I see there's been widespread coverage post-Cheltenham on the activity of 3 online bookmakers (Peter posted a link on Twitter)
It appears the main 3 culprits are 138.com, 12Bet and Fun88
There were offering various bonuses during Cheltenham, which many took advantage of. But, they are now witholding people's winnings, and closing accounts, even if there winnings didn't come from the bonus bets
Fun88 were trying to entice new customers. Anybody placing 3*£25 bets received one of them as a free bet, but are now claiming fraudulent activity on those who profited from it
Absolute flipping disgrace this, and brings the whole industry into disrepute. I think IBAS need to do more to protect punters, bookmakers are operating like gangsters these days

Fraudulent Bookmakers
I tried to open a new bank account recently and was rejected. Eventually, I got to the bottom of it, my company is called 'Bet' Angel.
Is this sort of crap that causes these problems, the industry had a great chance with exchanges to distance itself, modernise and create a great name and forward-thinking movement.
But instead it chooses to fleece those that are least able to afford it. Shocking stuff.

If you're looking for somewhere to stash a couple of million, I have some space left under my bed.It won't cost you much to rent it and I won't use ANY of your money to trade, honest Injun!

Have a listen to the Bottom Line podcast that I posted about recently - they are so stuck in their ways I don't see things improving - just going backwards. The bit in it about why they feel entitled to a share of the FOBT profits had me shaking my head as did a lot of other sections.Euler wrote:I tried to open a new bank account recently and was rejected. I shared it with a group of people I know who are in the racing industry and they all thought the horse racing people made a very good argument and were forward thinking

Cheltenham is the best time to do this as a lot boost the sign ups, ascot isn't bad either. Some even make a living just off MB and arbing.convoysur-2 wrote:ive only every had 1 bookie account ,paddy power,

I have done the matched betting scene and it's pretty lucrative at the start, but as time goes on you get gubbed by more and more of the bookmakers (especially if you are arb'ing) and you start taking risks in dodgy outfits like these guys, who are basically a law unto themselves.
They start making you jump through hoops to get withdrawals and look for any reason to drag it out and sometimes even not to pay out (like these guys).

I had Betbright refuse to give me my matched bet, the reason being that my initial bet WON!!! Just lol. I withdrew winnings and won't use them again!Mikky wrote:I have done the matched betting scene and it's pretty lucrative at the start, but as time goes on you get gubbed by more and more of the bookmakers (especially if you are arb'ing) and you start taking risks in dodgy outfits like these guys, who are basically a law unto themselves.
