Hi everyone.

I was studying the racing card today what I do very poorly and was faced with the fact that we're going to have races starting every 5 minutes, on certain periods.

I would like to know how do you manage these cards on two different aspects:

1. Do you trade all the the races? If not, what do you leave behind? I tried to evaluate them by the cash prize, but got no answer there.

2. How does this affect your timing in the market? Do you always wait for the previous race to end, or you just pretend one or more meetings don't exist?

Thank you all for your answers and may you all have profitable trades :)

Hi,

For me, the card is opportunity based. Before looking at which races might clash, I'll try and establish which races might deliver a good set of circ's for me to trade them. Once done, I'll look at whether they may be too close together, if so, I'll plump for the one that gives the best opportunity for me.

It's worth bearing in mind though, when two races are close together, the second of them will have a lot of volume arriving quickly, which can deliver an opportunity in itself.

Hope this helps.

Hi C.,

I like non-handicaps with a red hot fav. as they often offer opportunities to lay horses in the 10/1-12/1 region which will drift a couple of points. They're what I look for first.

I rate handicaps using a method I devised years ago and keep an eye on the top rated, where moves often occur especially when the beast is 14/1+ I explain my rationale on a blog I did for a few weeks at the tail end of last year if you're interested. Apart from that it's watching the pre-race market for me and once the deals done, on to the next,

cheers, P
