Quick question... It has bothered me for a long time, but when a race is in play, I've noticed that the moment it ends and is suspended that an awful lot of the positions are cleared from the market, but if I have an unmatched position my stake is tied up till the market is settled. Do these dominant market players have some special arrangement, or is it Betfair themselves staking the market or am I missing something ??

I'm not talking about when a race goes in-play, but when the market is suspended when in-play ends.

Also the fill rate delay doesn't appear to be anything remotely like a level playing field... again, is this down to special arrangements with some accounts... or am I in error in my observation ?

When a market is suspended only 'keep' bets are left, hence why some orders disappear. Cross matching doesn't have a delay which is what you might be seeing.
