Small lay 1.02 1.03 and win

I don t anderstand I always see the small lay bet.
Same my copy screen.
If I lay at 1.02 I m sur the player(horse,soccer,tennis) win.
How I can win when that?

Horses than trade at 1.01 do not always win.

I have personally backed over 1000, 1.01 Losers .. lifetime.

(sure, I have backed lotsa winners, too .. )

I dont use a ladder, so, dont take this as gospel, but, think they are offers by people, who want to lay those prices.

Laying 1.02 etc, might get u a bounce, in a sporting event .. and u dont need much, to turn a tidy profit.
