After 8 years on Betfair using Betangel, I am having to admit, I just keep losing money. Honestly, I have tried everything in the book. I keep losing. So, here's a quiz. If there is ANYBODY constantly winning on Betfair/Betangel, can you please tell me how you do it because I am beginning to think it is absolutely impossible. Having said that, if Peter explained how he makes like 25grand a week then things might change. But I do question him!! He doesn't tell you step-by-step exactly how he does it. If anybody knows, then I'd be glad to know!

Be mores specific. were exactly are you with your trading. trading manually? horse racing?
What books have you read? been to any courses. you could be lacking one tiny pivot witch could give you an edge.

Why are you losing?

That's the question you need to ask yourself, and that's the perfect starting point because the 1st step to success is not to lose money. Once you eradicate all your errors, things will turn for you

8 years? Just stop. No shame in it.

i may be wrong, but was it yourself that went for the sniping type tactic?? If it was, then I definitely feel that this is a doomed approach as you are playing with a lot of chance and hope as many 1.10's turn and drift out big time. to chance £50 a pop for a £5 reward (in that risky environment) seems overtly unwise. I'm not saying that a return of £5 from £50 isn't bad, in fact in any other scenario where there is breathing space equally on either side, then I'd say that is a good return.

anyway, I'd look at courses in either pre-race trading and/or study simple automated practices for inplay that are less risky but potentially in the longer term, will return a profit.

I was up by just over £300 and was using the lay strategy of laying favourites between 3.2 - 6.0 which was carried out in-running. I shall admit, though, I was getting a bit cocky, and was on my third beer (I know, never drink alcohol whilst trading) but I ended up losing. So for you guys who kindly answered my post, this was down to sheer cockiness and the demon drink!! My wife, who is a Forex and CFD trader, told me in no uncertain terms to follow her strategies, especially on Forex. So, have bitten the bullet and will follow her advice!!

Forgot to say, yes I did Peter's course back in May 2015 and it was very informative. But I have to ask the question, why doesn't Pete offer some kind of live mentoring? I would be willing to pay whatever money just to follow his trades - live!!

oliver, i'll say this for you, you deserve a break for your brutal honesty and willingness to man up to your weaknesses. keep focussed and disciplined, and either break at 17:30 and have your deserved beer, OR use friday nights as your focus to knock off early and have a beer... one way or another, you at least know what you really should be up to ;) (we've all done it!!)

Oilver,
Around 2010 to early 2012 were the gold rush years in my opinion, (i know this sounds impossible), but almost everyone seemed to be doing well at that point.
I do agree with you, in that it is so much harder these days, sometimes you have to be brutally honest as the P&L doesn't lie.
I banked all the money I made in those years and I do often think that if I were just coming to this nowadays would I be successful, Im not so sure.
Even on a forum where people dont really know each other, people are reluctant to say "I failing", but in a zero sum game for every post in the motivation thread there are probably ten unwritten opposite posts.
Sometimes you have to be totally honest with yourself and change direction (Do a search on Amazon for "Who moved my cheese"), its a simple parable type story, that I recommend when you are at a cross roads such as you are
Ive used the principles myself a couple of times in my life and wholeheartedly endorse it
Regards
Peter

If money is not important, eg. you're doing this as a hobby with small stakes and hope this will someday provide a decent income... why not continue? If you've been doing this for 8 years you're bound to have picked up some knowledge. Maybe the winning strategy is just around the corner. Just don't keep repeating what you already know doesn't work. Explore, try, analyse, explore. In the end that will leave you with a set of rules that do work :-)

Still have to ask the question, exactly how does Pete makes all this money? Again, you would think if he is making big money, you'd think he'd share his systems/strategies - he'd make more money and all of us on this forum would do also.

But maybe the money isn't being made. I've still to see definite proof as I expect all of you do too. So, Peter, wanna tell us exactly what the 'secret' is? Or I could always ask Caan berry?

Are you suggesting Peter Webb is a bullshitter, and doesn't make any money at all?

If you haven't ironed out your own failings after 8 years, then it doesn't even matter if PW told you his secrets, as the chances are you'd still f**k it up!

I've known some very intelligent people concede defeat with trading. It's not for everyone, and I suggest it's not for you either

What sort of proof are you expecting to see??, he's traded and made money live, posted god knows how many P/L statements over the years, he is known well enough that if he was making it up several members of Betfair would of publically said so by now - short of publishing his actual bank statements i can see what else he could do?

Posting daily or weekly P/L he will just get others saying its showing off so he cant win there.

I get that you might of had a bad day or two recently but not really a reason to question someone especially when so much proof is already out there.

It was only about 3 weeks ago you where posting how you have a 90% strike rate!
