I laid a draw tonight and decided to red up,
I hit the green up button once but the losses kept increasing.
I don't understand why as I thought once you click it then you are out of all the trades.
Am I missing something or should you not select/click it more than once ??

Thanks

There is a 5-8 second delay on all in-play bets on football so if odds move during this time and after you clicked green up you will of missed it and be left with a unmatched bets,
Often you will end up having to click it more than once but always allow enough time between clicks for you previous one to hit the market, even then still keep a eye on it in case you have clicked again and the odds have now bounced back and matched your 1st green up.

Or if your using the ladder click on a green up figure 2-3 ticks past the current price.

Thanks Dallas,
I am still trying to figure out what happened, as it went south very quickly, like at the off in a horse race.
I was redding up on the draw just as City scored their 2nd, typical!
Then I had red ups, green ups it was changing so fast. In short my losses should have been 30 quid W L D and I ended up with Draw wins 310 and Man City Sunderland losses of 60??
I just don't understand what happened I clicked it a lot and it just kept changing.
Perhaps the timing and impossible to get a matched bet? What to do in this situation?

Thanks

You can search the forums for my posts about this problem. I love BA Guardian but have to use other software due to the bizarre way that greening / redding up can INCREASE YOUR LIABILITY with BA.

That will of been the cause of your problem, after a goal and the market becoming unsuspended there will be a hugh shift in odds as the market reforms with bets being offered on both the back and lay side, trying to green up immedietly after the suspension is either going to mean getting a bad price or a lot of unmatched orders.

Wait fot the market to resettle (usually around 60secs) and you'll see the price gaps dissappear, now you can green up much easier - you may still have to click a 2nd or 3rd time but as long as you allow the 5-8 secs for your previous bet to hit the market you will see if it has either greened up in which case do nothing or if its showing as a unmatched bet because the price has moved a few more ticks in which case you can now ho ahead and re-green.

When i green up with automation on football i always include a condtion not to do it untill 60secs after the market has been unsuspened, and its instructed to try again each 10 secs if the last is unsuccesful - and i have never had any problems.

Thanks Dallas,
An expensive lesson well learnt here, awful timing for me across both markets, guess I paniced.
Automation is your friend in this case I reckon
Thanks

Its the same process weather your using automation or manually trading if you remember and stick to the two key points you wont have any problems.

* Allow a market to settle and reform after it has unsuspended following a goal (ususlly around 60secs)
* Allow a reasonable amount of seconds between green ups (or any back and lay bets) to account for the in-play delay imposed by Betfair - and only submit it again once you can see the previous one has reached the market and is unmatched and you dont think the price is going to move back to match it.
