Hi guys,
So I have finished a file here which I think is good 75% of the time. Have been consistent, alot of wins on sprint races. But, due to lack of experience on the automated side of things, I dont recognize what could be improved and was hoping you could help out. And happily use this basic of bots! Think can get more out of this.
So its an in-play lay. Signal looks for all horses above >1.5 SP then all horses that trade below 8 and drift back to 16, I lay for 8 pounds. I have a stop lose for 25 pounds if the horse come back into contention. FOK for the lay bet.
So this is where I feel file needs improvement.
1) Often if the first horse that gets layed isnt traded, the bet sorta dies of death although other runners then meet the criteria for this trade and should be matched. Would like the bot to try and lay more than 1 runner.
2) Is it possible to keep greening of -25 against individual runners rather than the overall money value of the race? So if the bot lays 2 runners. if one of them hits -25 than only that horses gets closed out rather than all the other potential runners?
3) Is it possible to have a both a green out of -25 and +5 against the same individual runners for example?
And other things which maybe I am not the best on. Ie. The trigger and rearming. The way I am trying lay the horse? Best efforts for example.
Thank you all - John
Horses In Play Lay
Im assuming this was orginally the 'Lay the outsider after a good go rule' which you have now modified?
Couple of things stand out here from the changes you have made
1, You have the condtion 'number of place bets' on the market as 0 which will only allow the rule to trigger one time and on one selection, because your using Fill/kill there is no use in changing this to 'selection' instead use -
'Number of matched bets' on 'selection' is equal to 0
'Number of unmatched bets' on 'selection' is equal to 0
2, With this changed the 1 second re-arm time your using for your lay is too short, you need to allow for the in play delay so have changed this to 3secs (should be at least 2secs) to avoid double bets on any one selection.
3, The Green out rule is fine for the loss part, just need to add another one using greater than £5 to green out for a profit.
The attached rule has all the above ameneded.
I have also change the place at 'best odds' to place at 'fixed odds' 20.0 otherwise it could trigger and place at odds in the 100s and if it does that could leave you with a huge liability - also your signal was only set to trigger 3 times meaning this is the maximum number of horses you will signal and be able to lay i have increased this so will attmept to lay several runners which met the criteria.
By all means change any of these back if there not to your liking
Also depending on what type of races your using it on the condtion of your lay that the LTP is < 8.0 which in some races could see a lot of runners being signalled as soon as the race starts rather than those that have shortened and are now on the drift - i have left this alone as this may be your intension.
No races this time of night so not had chance to test either file will do so tomorow afternoon, i have uploaded it back now in case you want to try also but if you do.

Legend! I will give this a crack tomorrow. Looks like it will solve my issues.
Is there any reason why on the Green Lose/Profits there are different trigger/rearm figures?
Also, one last question... Are the Green/Profit rules as per an individual horse or for the overall value of the race?
Thanks again mate!

Not my intention at all mate. Just not aware of the correct figure to use to get the most out of the rule.
You think should go alot lower but then at being at risk of horses not been triggered?

This would be donw to trial and error to find what works best, but would leave this alone for now until your happy the rest of the rule is at least triggering right then start adjusting this.
But i would probably chnage this to a number a bit lower - alot of small field competative races will see all if not the majorty of the field start below these odds

From watching the first few races if i was going to add anything it would be another condition to the lay bets
'Fixed odds condition'
Lay price is
Less than 100 (or something like that)
Otherwise when a horse has fallen or trading at very high odds its currently wasting triggers by continually trying to lay that runner.

Hey mate. The only issue I've come across actually. When trying to take positive greening in-play. I.e. Made i.e. 10 pounds pre race. It's sorta caps making anymore money on this automation.
I guess it's to do with the greening rules I've got. Thks

Here a log.
The stop didn't kick in on a lay I had. For wildcattled.
Which went on to win
Is there anything else I can add to rules?
This has happened 4 times now. Last 2 days. Thanks.

Just looking at your last 2 images posted, when using any form of stop loss in-play there is never any guarantee they will be matched and especially in the final seconds in-play when the odds are at the most volitile.
In the 2nd image from guardian i can see you have over 100 matched bets on some markets and in the log for the one highlighted its showing some green ups from in-play.
If your trading on markets prior to running this rule during in-play the greening up part will never work correctly because the profit and loss rules included as part of your automation always look at your overall P/L for that market not just from what that specific automation has created.
Also any condtions used including your number of matched bets one will also take into account ALL bets on a market or selection and not just those done by your automation file.

Hi Dallas, is there a way I can tweek this file (the one u posted) to stop laying more horses after 2 have been matched, layed and are in play. Very happy with the file now. I have made a few changes. But sometimes when 4 or 5 horses are layed and are in play, it plays havoc with stop loses etc. i wanna see if limiting to just 2 will make a good difference.
I will guess it has something to do with the conditions i have said up. Matched and Unmatched on the selection is what i have currently set up. Do i change that to matched in market? i have tried to play around in practice but not quite nailing it.
thanks mate
