Any athlete dying doing the sport they love is always sad, even if it's the activity they would have preferred to die doing. The amount of shit some of the paralymphletes have had to overcome in their lives makes it even sadder.
With the amount of doping shit around Rio this year and contaminating previous years, it makes me respect the paralympics even more.
At a wild guess 99% of the gold medalists won't get the acclaim, sponsorship, or media coverage that their able bodied equivalent athletes get for gold.
Unless you're the fastest legally blind man on the planet...and Mormon....and Irish!!
2012 race is pretty shocking, within seconds of that race pretty much all of Irish social media was asking, OK who else just saw that race??

I must say apart from the very unfortunate and tradgic incident on the penultimate day involving Bahman Golbarnezhad I thought the games themselves where much better than I was expecting following on from the 2016 Olympics and that team GB and indeed all the athletes from the other nations put on a great show and performance from start to end.
