so this great? match up is going to be a winner for jumps racing because it will attract more of the non racing public to jumps racing and racing in general?
or does it reveal the lack of depth within this sport (jumps in particular) and is bound to suffer an inevitable death?
and how good are these two horses? as good as arkle, flyingbolt, mill house, etc or are their ratings too high? Is ks better than desert orchid at kempton or is the reverse true or are they at a similar level?
How long a career would kauto star, denman have had if he'd have run in the sixties?
Over to you if you so desire.

They quite fancy Denman's chances today!

I guess his prospects for the cup will be determined somewhat by his performance today.

the heavy promotion of this so called greatest match up ever isn't looking too hot now - that's why I placed a question mark at the end of the title. For me Denman had to be a lay due to certain criteria coming together to work against him. Many will blame the jockey but they'd be wrong to do so.
There is a very good reason why we will never see a jumps horse reach the levels achieved by previous staying jumpers yet it is never mentioned in the press/tv etc. And seeing as the gold cup is a stayers race (supposedly) that means racing is having to big up performances. Unfortunately the majority are too willing to believe that recent events are always better than something which took place decades previous.
I've got a funny feeling that the stayers hurdle is going to be a tasty in-running race so save a few quid for then and play.
