I am curious to know if I am at times overtrading or undertrading.

Ofcourse how long is a piece of string right?

On average how many trades are you taking per race?

I know scalping is about plugging as much and as safely through as possble.

If you are swing trading a volatile ranging price band how many trades are you opening?

If your taking a longer term trade how often are you in and out until your satisfied with your position?

I know it is hard to say but I would love to hear your thoughts.

If someone is overtrading or undertrading how can we tell?

It's always going to be how long is a piece of string type question as the reality is only you know if you're over or under trading.

If we break it down simply, you should only be entering trades when you have an idea of where the market is likely to move. So if you're only betting at those opportunities you should be at you max potential. If you sit by hesitating at whether to place bets and they then pass you by it's likely you'd be undertrading, sticking spurious bets into the market on a whim to be involved because nothing clear has cropped up would be considered overtrading.

I'd imagine most traders veer between the two simply because we're either trying new things out or bored/tired of watching the markets. Realistically you're trying to be the most efficient trader you can be on that particular day.

It should be commended the way experienced traders on this forum are always so willing to take time to answer posts from us newbie traders,, and that inexperienced traders can comfortably post any type of question and know they ll get some helpful replies,, keep up the good work guys,
