Betfair have always been several seconds ahead of Sky TV, BT Sport, etc for live football matches as they have always been able to suspend games several seconds before a goal is shown being scored on all of these channels.

Also many traders are also ahead of these channels as the can be seen by the money going in to the markets. Unless that is Betfair themselves!

Does anyone know where Betfair and these other traders are getting their TV feed from?

For the last 9 or 10 months money has been going in to the markets with a 3 to 7 second advantage over the Sky TV and BT Sport pictures. Tens of thousands of pounds.

This never used to happen. I traded the games for 7 years without this happening.

There is way too much money going in to the markets for it all to be suddenly coming from traders at the games.

I'd like to know where this money has suddenly come from.

Probably just the bf monkey who presses the suspend button and doesn't have the implant delay

i wonder is the suspend done from the football stadium by portable device guy ?,
or the suspend comes from the pitch to betfair and then they suspend ?
would anyone know this ?
from the device guy pushes the goal button untill the market is suspended ,i wonder how many seconds it takes,

It will be different depending on the games and countries I imagine. it would be a huge advantage for bf if they didn't have a time delay and everyone else does! Then again, we all know, bf wouldn't dream of doing that or allowing their market makers these priviliges

It is either Betfair doing it, which is outrageous, or some technical advantage is allowing a large number of traders to get a faster TV feed.

It happened for the first time at the beginning of this year and their speed advantage has remained ever since on all games, premier league or lower league, UK or European.

I would love to know exactly what it is.

This has been widely discussed on Betfair forums for as long as I can remember, I have listened to the radio before which is ahead of TV. I have seen on Teresstrial TV virtually no big delays in Picture v Suspend. I have seen on beIN Sports sometimes pictures are ahead of Sky and sometimes 20 seconds behind.

I remember watching (the worst bet of my life) The last World Cup final, three bars in a row, one with Terestial Pics, one with Sky and one with beIN and one bar cheers, then a couple of seconds later the next bar cheered, the the third bar cheered, all at different times, it was really funny the other bars not knowing why we were cheering....

I don't believe too much into the scout thing, it would not be wrong to presume that betfair would share the instant live pictures say that SSN use on a sat afternoon.

Of course there is going to be an advantage of being at a games as there is probably at a race.

Sky buy the rights to film the sport but they are not in control of the live pictures I imagine that comes from the FA to one satellite and is then picked up and streamed from Sky.

If you are watching in HD, the late picture comes
