Hi
I've had some really good results from this bot after adding other conditions. I do lay a dog based on the conditions I have set whilst greening on any small profit. However a few times a day it reds up and places a back bet on my selection even though it is supposed to be a lay bet. This has started happening from when I started using the 'number of matched bets conditions'.
The reason I needed to use the 'number of matched bets condition' was due to the amount of backs and lays I was getting (always endind with a lay as that was my intention) and if the dog won it would take a right chunk of money.
Initially I was getting cancelled bets due to the amount of green up rules I had which Dallas ponted out but I've now managed to overcome this and am still able to use a few green up rules.
I just need to ensure that the bot lays and doesn't back and red up the other five for a small loss. It seems that the 'number of matched bets condition' is doing a little reverse engineering. Any idaes?

If your just wanting to green up the one selection, or any number of selections individually then the 'Close Trade with or without greening' rule type would be used instead of the 'Green all' rule type.
There is also a seperate trade profit condition that looks at the P/L of a individual selection

Thanks Dallas. I'm already using close trade profit. On my Green up rules I'm using 'Green all profit condition' and then in my lay bet I'm using close trade profit condition. The following is what I'm getting after the LAY is placed:
Trap 1 0.10 (green)
Trap 2 0.10
Trap 3 0.10
etc which is fine
Sometimes this (this is what I don't want)
Trap 1 -3.65
Trap 2 -3.65
Trap 3 27.50 (The lay bet turns into a Green back bet)
Trap 4 -3.65
Trap 5 -3.65
Trap 6 -3.65
Finely
Trap 1 2.00
Trap 2 2.00
Trap 3 -5.40
Trap 4 2.00
etc which is what I want as I laying
I have the lay bet to trigger once with no back bets. I have three greening rules with green all profit condition (greater than) and a lay rule with a close profit condition (less than). How can I stop the lay bet from turning into a back bet?

Bet Angel will only place what you ask it to, it certainly does nt turn back bets into lay bets for you or vice verse.
At a guess you either have an additional rule type somewhere triggering back bets under certain conditions your not aware of or your being matched at much higher or lower odds than 1 or more of your bets is being triggered at and thats creating a unbalanced book for you or you could have a lay bet being triggered twice or a duplicate triggering on the same selection.
I would start by going through each of your rule types checking for any mistakes including what selections you have the condtions applied to etc.
This thread explains how to check to see exactly which of your rules have triggered, next time you get any unexpected triggers i would follow the intructions in this thread to see if you can idnetify the problem

Thanks for the link Dallas. I don't understand what you mean by 'or your being matched at much higher or lower odds than 1'Dallas wrote:Bet Angel will only place what you ask it to, it certainly does nt turn back bets into lay bets for you or vice verse.

Betfair match all orders at the best odds when the reach the market. Its more likely one of the other reasons i gave but it will be down to one of those three scenariosjaketarn wrote:

If you get a screenshot of the matched bets, log of the race in question and the 'automation' tab in guardian showing whats triggered that should helpjaketarn wrote:Okay cheers. I'll try and get a few screen shots of what's happening as I believe all my rules and conditions are okay.
Your triggering 4 seperate green up rules at the same time, so the first is greening you up with the required back bet amount - your then sending 3 further back bets meaning you have now just backed a runner multiple times.
Just use one green up and set it to trigger 2-3 times and re-arm every 1-2 seconds, once your greened up it will stop triggering

Thanks Dallas but this has been working really well for me. In the third image above, the amount of 24.99 is credited into my account as soon as the conditions are met of my second lay bet. The thing is I've only recently realised what was going on due to the lack of experience and have been messing around with my settings so much so that my second lay bet is not triggering at all. All the conditions are based on your original template.Dallas wrote:Your triggering 4 seperate green up rules at the same time, so the first is greening you up with the required back bet amount - your then sending 3 further back bets meaning you have now just backed a runner multiple times.

Any help is very much appreciated.
This may be a daft question but I'll ask anyway...Not sure if this would be creating a free bet with profit but In the P&L column if the total amount of back bets (Greened) adds up to more than the lay, is there a way to profit (using automation) and still leave the difference if there is one on the selection as a bet?
