data recording..how to do?

ok,probably i need some skill using excel and pc

i don't ask an explanation on "how to do"..i want know "what i have to learn to know how to do??"

i'm taking a basic course on excel..ok

and after what i need?

i would want to test strategies,and take data for studing it.
for example,i would want to know: in the last 1000races,take only 3' preoff,in trend situation(ok i decide how to know which is a trend)when the price touch @3 then LAY! and after i wait the official time of start..at the official time BACK..which is the result if i use this strategies?
this is an example,i would want make it,but i don't know what skill i need?
what should i study for it?

I've spent couple of years working on various bot strategy ideas using Excel. Its freakin pain in bottom. Its fine for simple stuff, but if you'll be recording data and developing betting models, your files sizes will get into gigabytes, excel is useless at that point, you'll need separate databases, its a mess, just leave it.
Raw programming is the way. Python is great for data analysis, machine learning and betfair bot development. There is even free betfair bot framework to use: http://bespokebots.com/betfair-bots-APING.php
Its a long way, but if you keen to learn its a joy
