Newbie Automation Question

Hi guy's new to the forum and just started trading after being involved with matched betting for the last 2 years.

I am concentrating on pre race scalping in practice mode while i learn to better understand the markets and graphs ect.

I realise at this stage i need to have a exit plan for when the market goes against me and i am in the red.

So i am setting up automation so that i can get out at a set loss and remove the emotion from having a losing trade.

My question is about automation timing triggers if i set the timers to trigger the automation 10 mins before the race do i need to have that race market open more than 10 mins before the off or will it still trigger if i open the market at say 5 mins before the off? Hope that makes sense?

The market doesn't need to be open (viewed) at all. You control the automation with the 'Restrict refresh' setting in Guardian Advanced Settings tab and also with the Rule Trigger times on the 1st rule definition tab.
