I'd like to know what people find most frustating when using Guardian & Excel, and any ideas they have that would make their life easier.
For example, on a busy bank holiday with lots of racing, do you manually add the extra sheets?, what about the next day when it's back to the normal 30 races a day, do you then delete all the extras ot just leave 'as is' ?
What about an overview screen that lists all the markets, so you can enter your BA scripting instructions and leave running for the day?
As an example, I've been creating a basic spreadsheet along these lines, (see attached), but don't really want to carry it forward and make something that people wouldn't find useful.
Note: There are formulas in each BA sheet that pick up on the instructions issued on the overview screen.

Hi Nigel,
I'm in an excel phase, collecting data and letting it back certain runners in combination with automation.
I have a standard template with 50 pages. I don't adapt the number of pages for the races each day.
A few questions though:
- When disconnecting then reconnecting the spreadsheet, will non runners automatically be taken off the BA template? Same question with using restrict refresh?
- How can I get the winners of each race on the respective excel sheets?
I understand that you assist users like myself for more advanced Excel programming. Is that the case?
Thank you,
Laurent

Hi Laurent
See BA sheet 2 i3 for the formula to reference the previous race.
As the cell references are locked, you can cut/paste anywhere on the sheet, just not the same columns that are referenced in the formula.
Cheers,Nigel
The non-runners will always be removed from the BA sheets as soon as they are detected by the software (obviously not though if you've disconnected the sheets). When disconnecting then reconnecting the spreadsheet, will non runners automatically be taken off the BA template? Same question with using restrict refresh?
Given that the winner is always returned at 1.01, the formulas in i2 & i3 will show the winner. Bear in mind that it assumes the sheets are in time order. How can I get the winners of each race on the respective excel sheets?

Hi Nigel,
This won't keep the winner's name after the Back, Lay and LTP cells are emptied of their respective values (as Betfair does a couple of minutes after each race).
I connect the spreadsheet before the races start and only check its results at night. Hence, would it be possible to keep track of each winner long after the races are finished (instead of having to check timeform back and forth)?
Thank you,
Laurent

Hi Nigel,
Just daily, as I create a new workbook every day with the day's data and save them separately. I then try to analyse the daily results offline.
It would be great if the winner could appear on the race's sheet, as all the runners data are on there too.
If it's easier, I could DM or email the spreadsheet directly to you.
Best,
Laurent
