Hey everyone,
Just a quick post from me.
I'm very new to Bet Angel and trying to get to grips with the guardian side of things.
I'm currently creating a very simple Lay bot which looks to place a Lay bet on any horse in a race that's ranging from 10-12 odds and offset that with greening.
Currently my bot looks like this - https://gyazo.com/6a3f0e29f177d764607ef12329c7bee1
And for some reason it doesn't work even remotely like it should, it instantly places a Lay bet on Row 1 regardless of what the odds are at that time.
I'm sure i'm doing something wrong that's quite obvious but unfortunately I can't see that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Need Help Making a basic automation bot
First you need to increase your number of triggers on the general tab
Then you will need 2 x 'Fixed Odds Conditions'
1 to say Last Traded Price is greater than 9.8
1 to say Last Traded Price is less than 12.5
Finally a 'Number of Place Bet Triggers Condition'
On Selection
is equal to 0

Hi Dallas,
I was just wondering if you'd be able to enlighten me a little bit about how stops work in betangel.
I have a stop trigger at 80 ticks away which gets laid 50 ticks.
I've manually monitored this and they don't quite work how I thought they did.
To me, coming from a trading background, a stop loss would be placed down 80 ticks away (so at 8.67 if you layed at 11.5) and then you would have 2 back trades one at a stop trigger of 2.66 to prevent any further losses and then one at 130 odds which indicates your 50 tick profit back bet.
This has never quite worked like this for me in the past and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong? Or is this just not how Stops work in bet angel?
Many thanks for the help so far
Oh and the rules you gave me to add earlier worked like a charm!

A stop loss uses the value of your offset (hence a stop cant be placed unless an offset is selected as well). This thread details further how stops and trailing stops work

hey there
Are you trading or laying? If trading, I'd be worried about the spread between the back and the lay. It could take a while before the trade moves into profit. This could be a problem on the higher priced runners that don't have as much liquidity on them as, say, the 1st 3 favorites.
If laying: Do you have data showing that this will be profitable? I mean a runner with odds of 10 still has a 10% chance of winning, and statistically they do win 10% of the time. Odds 11 is 8.333% etc. So you're going to be making big payouts when these win.
Personally I and the system I'm making won't lay anything over 4, simply because of the potential loss/liability.
But I'm conservative and go by what my simulation on my historical data tell me.

So would it be possible to set the guardian up in a way that when a Lay bet is placed, it will place the greening offset bet X ticks away and then also a stop loss Back X ticks away in the other direction to only allow for a certain amount of ticks of loss?
Yes they can be selected on the parameters tab of the rules editor
