Hi some help please i have a strategy for horse racing which I can make a profit on from eithee Backing or Dobbing but feel doing both is not the way to go, although doing both is obviously profitable not sure if its best doing both types of bets or just one and doubling up on stakes to help the stats are

DOBBING
S/R 68.75%
Net P&L 39.20
ROI 30.62%

Backing
Strike Rate 49.21%
P&L 76.64
ROI 60.83%

This may sound stupid to most but feel doing one type may be better than the other and preferably Backing looks more profitable, am still in the trading learning stage and I do like Dobbing, I may still just do both as together the return is good.

Sorry for messing about but advice is always helpful

Hi bubbles180

Over what timescale have you compiled your stats? If you've been acheiving a strike rate of 49.2% over several years then that is fantastic. If that is not the case and it has only been over a few months I would be very wary as to whether a strike rate of 49.2% is sustainable.

Things have a nasty habit of evening out over time. I'm very new to Bet Angel having only joined in March discovered dobbing and fell in love with it. I was finding about 10 horses a day to DOB. The first 200 or so I was getting about 70% but things have levelled off a bit after 500 dobs so it's nearer to 55%. I'm refining my strategy so hope that it will be profitable long term.

I'd test your theories thoroughly before commiting maybe by using minimum stakes.
