I would find it useful to be able to control the betfair data request from excel.. i could then automatically change my request rate for pre vs in play. secondly i could also calculate my max rate depending on my commission for the day... anyone else think this would be good?

I do this already by triggering a macromachine macro based on a certain cell value in the bet angel excel sheet.

Takes a bit of time to write but Milton keynes wasn't built in a day

Well thats certainly a different slant on it and one that I hadnt thought of to be honest.
I would have to 100% sure that it is reliable (as having two instances running at 19 req sec soon adds up the charges! been there done that - got let off) :P

I might take a look at this and evaluate things..

I just think it would be great to have total control (for eg, I am just about to load up the aus markets, and would love to be able to switch off BA (AUS) instance off and switch another on for the start of the UK races. I have to leave real early in the morning for an all day meeting in London, so have to choose between the UK and Aus..and wont get chance to do it manually..

Thanks for the info Anyway,
regards
Peter
PS do you find it slows things down at all??

no it doesn't slow things down, it just means that each time BA changes the spreadsheet or the normal screen layout via a new release I have to re-code.

After the last release I thought my hard drive was stuffed, but it turned out to a macro which was looping due to new unexpected values in cell F3 and F4.

It crashes from time to time but with LogMeIn on an Iphone you can keep an eye on things when away from home.
