On the 11th of april 2010 I opened BA to find out that most of my money were gone from my account (£98 left on my account from £500). Betfair have charged me a huge ammount of money for data usage several requests per second. I usually have 15 per second, I have only one application running always. BA have introduced a warning if your computer don`t close previous applications correctly.I am 99.99% spot on to avoid charges. It happened before, after several complains BETFAIR did not admit their mistakes but, they refund every single penny back to my account so they did in this occasion. Today 16/04 After 2pm my account was dried out again to find my self -£137 down. BETFAIR took from my account £637 without my authorization. I t will take days again to prove that I could not possible make 100000s of bets in one day if I only trade on football in play match 10-20 bets per match. I would like to take this opportunity to advice you all that when betfair is charging you should always double check, they may have not done a mistake to take money from your account. I will take sometimes off hoping betfair will refund my bankroll..Good luck all..

I constantly check all my settings.Even tough with the introduce of BA warning I keep cheking task force manager just in case. I checked my account, the money have been taking for Tx exposure this time. How many bets according to them I have made with £500 bankroll over 8 hours of activity? several 100000s? I have checked I got only 350 bets over 8 hours. I got a strong case in my favour...

Have you been placing bets sub £2? As that counts as 3 bets.
Also have you been placing lots of bets that have been getting cancelled?

I just follow the markets manipulators or BIG PUNTERS MOMENTUM most of the time. I make several bets from £1.99 to £12 on each event. my highest ever was 500 bets over 45 minutes couple months ago. As i said i got a strong case. I am confidente i will get it back.

Not got a clue how many bets you would need to rack up your size of charges but I suspect that part of the problem is the placing of less than £2 bets as to place a bet of £1.99 takes 3 bets.
If you are placing a lot of these and cancelling a lot and resubmitting you can rack up big charges that way.

I only stick 1.99 several times when there are empty boxes between the lay side and back side. Obviously the money on both side have to be good average (1000-2000). I have done the same thing day by day from long time never been charged. I trying betdaq today seems not bad at all. I could not miss Inter vs juventus..

Hi,
Surely the OFT and or the monopolies commission or some one should be able to challange the decisions that they make. The difficulty I think is that no one is going to take a "punter" as that's all "they" (the authorities I mean) would see you as, seriously. The money does not make the authorities any tax (in the grand scheme) so no one cares
What happens in the City when these sort of mistakes etc happen as them must occur. I think that there should be some sort of Ombudsman or some sort of further regulation to look into complaints more objectively and take clients grievances more seriously.
The exchanges are nearly 9 years old now it is about time they where seen as somthing of substance rather than a new fangled gambling plaything that no-one understands so it does not matter.
The only person who could really bring about change, or put pressure on them I think would be the likes of the Racing Post who may be able to at least give the punter or trader a collective voice.
Just a thought, maybe betfair could do with not killin the golden goose and get rid of virtual horses slot games, roulette and total b******s like that. Concentrating on what they could do better which is customer relations..... I'll breathe now
Hope you get your money back mate chase em up.
Cheers

Hi Enza,
Thank you for your e-mail.
I have requested a reversal on your recent charge as a one-off goodwill gesture - this should appear on your account statement shortly. Note that any future charges will be applied to your account.
Kind regards,

Hi Enzabella,
I'm really glad you've got your cash back but if I were you I would push them for an explanation, if you are definatley in the right which it sounds as if you are it shouldnt be an offer of goodwill.... what will happen if they do it again?
But at least your going to get your money back well done on that front
