Just had a look at the new Betfair forum and it seems that the likes of me who have been banned for life can now view posts on the forum again

Obviously we still can't post but I am glad they have let us read it again.

I spoke out about the Premium Charge heaps of users got banned for that including plenty of the oldest and most loyal Betfair customers.
I wouldn't have a clue to how many got banned but the impression I got was that it was quite a few.

When I tried to dig deeper on why I was banned rather than the stock answer they gave I was meet with an offer to close my account so I left it at that.

Did they do this by email?
If so, I'd forward it to Andrew Black, as this amounts to bullying tactics.

No it was on the phone and it had the desired affect they wished for.

It's bang out of order, and I hate it when bullies win, but I don't blame you for acting as you did. I'd have done the same - there's too much at stake not to.

Hi,
I'm astonished that they banned you for something like that; I take it we only live in a free country if one is able to pay for it!! through the nose and we all know our place.
When BF was given the Queen's Award for Inovation I don't suppose HRH took the customer relations side into account.
Regards

I place phone bets with a highstreet bookmaker, and 90% of the people I speak to are male and have a gruff and grumpy manner (and a couple have been downright condescending towards me!).
Maybe there is something about the bookmaking industry that makes it particularly attractive to rough and ready types!

doubt it very much. more likely that the wages are crap, the hours are crap, in essence they are in a call centre, which is the equivalent of a battery farm for humans.
reckon some people need the jobs dispite the conditions and pay, and just get ground down by it resulting in the attitude's you describe.

Hi,
I think you are 100% about the conditions, wages, etc I have for the most part found the phone bet service quite helpful and polite (at dare I say it Laddies).
The main difference here is that of BF's attitude; it has been highlighted before how they tend to ride roughshod over people and have arbitary rules that seem to change on a whim or they peddle out the same line.
Again the main difference is with the High St you have a choice with BF there is powerful monopoly, no competition no change. I think a bit more thought from their part towards customer relations / support would go along way it would not take a lot from them.
Threatenin to close the account over an opinion though, I hope they are not watchin
