Firstly apologies. I've watched the video at least 10 times. My settings in bet angel are the same as in the video. I lowered my stake size to 0.10 to test out this system.

I clicked on the button and after 10 seconds the profit shown went to -5 quid (this has since fallen to 3.94 and the trade profit is -1.12). However for the rest of the horses it shows in the p/l column +1.72??

This has confused me somewhat. Have I followed the system correctly? Apologies in advance if I'm being a complete idiot.

Cheers guys.

P.S. just noticed it says 1.71 of unmatched bet was filled before remainder was killed????

Go to the log area on Bet Angel and post up the log. That should help you understand what you have done.

Did you end up with two matched bets or just the one? If you get matched on one side you have to get matched on the other to make a profit. If it doesn't get matched you have to red up for a loss.

It looks like there was only one bet which was a lay bet of 1.72 at odds of 3.29 according to my betting history. I'm confused!

Why the confusion, you need to get two bets matched to make a trade?

I understand that bit, i was just confused as to why on the video the chap clicks the button and either gets matched or his bet gets cancelled. He doesn't get the unmatched issue I was having. That's the only thing that has confused me.

You will get unmatched bets from time to time. If you trade during the last couple of minutes of a race then the rate at which both orders get matched is usually pretty high and this helps.

Yeah I thought that might be the case. The only other worry is if you want to bet with small stakes, how is this possible as when you enter 2 into the auto stake section, the liability is massive.

I typed in 2 and then updated and the back and lay stakes went up to 20? Is this normal or have I got my settings wrong somewhere. I understand completely how the system works, I just want to test it out with as little money as possible to start with. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for your help so far!

Don't set stakes from the auto stake option. Go into the one click screen and change the stakes on the right hand side in the stakes column.

Hi,

I downloaded Betangel Basic today and tried an experimental bet in the 2.45 at Newmarket. Before the off I backed Green Lighting at 17.5 for £2 expecting it to shorten in running. Soon after the off it shortened to 14.5 and I laid that price for £2. I then pressed the green up button expecting to lock in a (very small) profit. The horse won and I made a loss of £25.04. My Betfair account statement read as follows:

14:49 17.00 Lay £1.94 Lost (31.04)

14:49 14.50 Lay £2.00 Lost (27.00)

14:48 17.50 Back £2.00 Won 33.00

What did I do wrong?

When you trade, you open a trade, close a trade and then green up.

The green up button is for spreading your profit once you have a profit. Not for taking a profit or loss after opening a trade.

If you traded four times and lost, broke even then won twice you would be one trade up which you would then green up. You shouldn't green up before you have made a profit or loss. On this example if we green or redded up after our inital order the final result would be different from the one profitable trade greened up at the end.

The process you should be following is detailed in the user guide: -

The thing that is confusing me is bet angel seemingly not placing a back bet after my lay bet. I end up laying money on and not covering it off. I set the program up exactly as in the video. Perhaps I'm picking the wrong horse or market because nothing happens the same as it does in the video.

I do understand the concept, but when I click the expected backing bet stage doesn't happen. Its frustrating as I know I must be doing something wrong.

Any advice or tips?

Bet Angel is probably placing a bet but it is unmatched and therefore if you don't close that bet that is where the confusion is creeping in. Not all offset counter bets match so you need to decide at that point whether you want to take a loss or not.
