Is it possible to remove the 5 second delay before placing bets in BA Pro?
these delays are imposed by betfair and vary by market. i'm assuming that this is a football or tennis market, in which case it will be delayed by 5 seconds.SigmaDraconis wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 1:42 pmIs it possible to remove the 5 second delay before placing bets in BA Pro?

to quote betfair themselves:
In-play markets usually carry a time delay varying from 1-12 seconds. This delay is in place to allow customers to cancel unmatched orders on the system when there is a change in market conditions. This delay protects both backers and layers and leads to greater liquidity.

I remember early noughties before Betfair, when betting in running was first becoming available. At first it was possible to bet on football matches after a goal was scored before they managed to suspend their markets.
Those were the days! (They didnt last long).

Apparently you used to be able to back in the day:
Place order (countdown starts)
Have the transfer funds page up
If you don’t want the order to hit the market transfer your balance into AUS/games wallet
You would then get a balance error
Obviously a faff and has since been restricted.

That doesn't sound like they were betting the 5 second delay when placing bets but rather cancelling bets during the 5 second delay.
So for example if a penalty was about to be taken you would place the bet just less than 5 seconds before they took the penalty and then if they didn't score you would transfer your funds which would cause the bet not to be placed but if they did score you left it.
So were these people in the past placing bets constantly and running some sort of automation to transfer the funds back and forth out of their main wallet to void them if they didnt want them to be placed? Or have I misunderstood?
Also is that why there is no longer an Aus wallet or did they close the loophole some other way?

Yes that makes sense and easier to do than transferring funds but the rest of the points in my previous post still stand, that you weren't really beating the 5 second delay but just cancelling/voiding bets during the 5 second delay. Can any one answer the other points I raised as I am curious about it. Thanks.
The 'cancel another bet' loophole was closed by Betfair by means of not allowing users to place a bet unless the funds were available at the point of bet placement. The method wasn't strictly speaking 'beating the clock' but it was an almost perfect proxy.
