Hi everyone. I'm trying to build an automation file that will back a guardian nominated runner at BSP, then at in=play lay the runner with greening at a 10% profit.

But I can't set BSP as a stored value.

If I use the offset bet feature, then it places the lay at the same time as the Back - not when the back is matched at BSP, so the lay gets taken straight away

I can't use fixed price because I don't know what BSP is going to be.

I don't want to use a profit condition, because i want my exit to be in the queue straight away, not placed as the price runs by it.

Is there a way to do it. I'm stumped.

Thanks in advance.

To get a bet at BSP. Place it before the off away from the current odds, and have another 'Take SP' rule to make unmatched bets settle at SP. Be mindful of the min bet requirement in the BF Ts&Cs. (£2 bet or £10 lay liability)

Have a look at your Fill/Kill setting on your Back with Offset bet if you want the lay to be placed as soon as the back bet is taken, but not before. I forget which way round it is but search for "Fill/Kill" in the user guide and you should find the info you need.

Hopefully you're unstumped now.

(You shouldn't need to use a stored value btw if you use the above....and obv use Practice Mode until you know it's working)

Thanks Shaun, that Fill/Kill did the trick with not banging the lay straight in when the back was placed.

However, the offset bet is placed at 10% of the original 'wide' bet i.e. back @ 1000, offset bet is placed @ 890 - which then matches at the best available lay price.

I need my Lay at 10% from BSP where I was matched. Rather than 10% of where I placed. Do you know how I could achieve that?

For infor this is the log.

Sorry yes....You might have to wait for Dallas to pick this question up. I'm a bit rusty on BA automation.

Ok, thanks for getting back to me all the same - the fill/kill thing did help.

Offsetting won't work when taking BSP, so you'll either have to have the order matched as close to the off as possible or wait till its turned in-play then place the bet at the actual SP which does, of course, mean you may not always be matched and sometimes it might after the price has been down past where your lay would have been.

The only other option is to use a regular back bet to take SP then once in-play to place a lay bet at custom ticks or % below actual SP

Then use a green up rule to spread the profits once the lay is matched - sometimes this will mean it'll green for a worse price as it drifts back out but other times you'll get a better price as it continues in, so over time this would itself even its self out for you so would IMO be the best way of doing it

Thanks Dallas. I'm going to work on something like the 2nd option. Thanks for confirming about BSP/offsey and for the idea for the solution!

I found a way to do an offset bet based around SP.... I think.. but the lay bet isn't firing?

its meant to place a lay bet 10% below sp, and green if price goes 10 percent above.

You're only allowing a 14 second period for the lay offset to fire. Are you sure Guardian refresh is hitting the market during this period?

Yes 20ms , I can try extending the period but would have thought the problem is something else

Edit: you were right
