Dear Forum members
Does anybody have up too date information of time delays on so-called live video feeds for Horse Racing. I.e: SIS, Betfair, William Hill, etc ...
Thanx in advance.

When I'm at home I tend to use Betfair mobile on my phone and notice once the UK/Irish horseracing market turns 'in-play' There's usually a delay of around 7 - 10 seconds before the betfair video pictures catch up. On US racing the delay's even worse more like 20 seconds.
I often sit in bookies mostly to watch my automated back to lays. With SIS the video seems to catch up about 3 seconds after the market turns in play. So a little better than Betfair mobile.

From my experience, Betfair video on the computer is a few seconds ahead of Betfair video on mobile.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume Bookmakers set their own latency level within their SIS accounts. Which Bookmaker is the fastest, quality, and consistent.ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 9:32 pmWhen I'm at home I tend to use Betfair mobile on my phone and notice once the UK/Irish horseracing market turns 'in-play' There's usually a delay of around 7 - 10 seconds before the betfair video pictures catch up. That's interesting I assumed it was the same SIS service for them all. I've tended to use the same Hills shop for the last 12 years but on the odd occasion when I go to other shops I've not noticed any difference in the picture delay. The Silk Run wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 1:02 amCorrect me if I'm wrong but I assume Bookmakers set their own latency level within their SIS accounts. Thank's Northbound I did wonder about this. My 'pc' is really a tablet which is not that great but adequate for Bet Angel. I tend to set up automation then watch later on my phone if at home or the bookies as the one I tend to go to has only about about a 3 second delay. But I'll give the desktop Betfair video a go next time I stay in.northbound wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 11:34 pmFrom my experience, Betfair video on the computer is a few seconds ahead of Betfair video on mobile.

Not sure if you’ll see any difference on your tablet though, most probably the video is served through “HTML5” streaming like on mobile.ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 8:50 amThank's Northbound I did wonder about this. Whereas on a PC / Macbook, where you get the full Betfair website, video stream is powered by the Flash plugin. This plugin is not available on mobile devices as it’s more resource-intensive.
Thanks again. Hopefully at some stage I'll upgrade to a 'proper' laptop/pcnorthbound wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 8:58 amNot sure if you’ll see any difference on your tablet though, most probably the video is served through “HTML5” streaming like on mobile.ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 8:50 amThank's Northbound I did wonder about this.
