I've been recording all my trades in Excel for the past year and filtering as needed to report on different variables (e.g. Tennis , Football , Country , Avg Gain , Avg Loss etc ) - when trading manually this is somewhat time consuming but manageable , however I recently started automating with Bet Angel and whilst it's fantastic I am struggling to report on .

I want to measure P/L against various things such as ; Rule used, Country , Time of event so I can see which parts of each strategy are working and which are not , I need a line by line excel doc without having to type the entries in ! -

I have a horse racing template I downloaded from Bet Angel which imports the csv export from Betfair and sorts by track , race type etc and that's fantastic , I need the above for football and tennis.

I don't believe people are spending a lot of time entering data as it's inefficient and I'm sure I must be missing a trick .

Would really appreciate any suggestions , I have attached a sample excel - I am using up trading time entering data !

I believe a BetAngel user named 'Switesh' or somthing like that has a useful spreadsheet for data recording, believe he is no longer around on the forum. Give it a search and you should find it on here.

I tweaked the Horse racing file so it'd work with all sports, but at the end of the day you're limited to the data Betfair put in their bettingpandl files so wouldn't get the African Cup etc fields.

WOW - thanks Spreadbetting ! - that's a great help - it's given me a place to start - I can use the team data at least and analyse big profits or losses - also helpful I can see by Market which in my case is generally linked to a rule in Guardian .
Thanks Pie Thrower also - I will look Switesh up - I've realized there is no magic fix and it will take some time
