I was really looking forward to trading Ascot this week but I have found the going very hard work.
It has been hard to get money matched on both sides, with very little price movement and large sums around.
Twice I got caught badly with money only matched on one side and the race about to start.
Just about managed to get in the black for the day.
How did everyone else fair?
Ascot Day 1 - hard work
Lack of fill rate is always a problem in these markets. If you look at the 'normal' markets you can put a lot of orders through. Some of them work, some don't but overall they average themselves out a fair bit.
At Ascot you either live or die if you order fills or not, then you need to make sure it either stays there or goes roughly in the direction you want.
Today I turned a profit to a loss a couple of times then went in running on the last. I used SP but that was very poor and I had to chase the price in. A tough start.

ok if you've not had the best first day at ascot then here's something that might cheer you up.
ALways makes me smile anyway!

LOL, Never seen those before.
Didn't have a terrible day in the end. 22 races 7 losses, £136 profit on a £500 max stake. Or £5 tick sizes.
