As it is post the international break, any trends (slow scoring, low scoring games, poor teams) to watch out for in the Premiership?

Any big travel for certain key players to teams that could effect them late in the games from tiredness/jet lag?

Thoughts?

In a word, no.

With the modern tech, modern travel and the way the fixtures are scheduled now, there's much more effect on the weekend by a Wednesday away trip to Italy than an international break.

I presume a post has been removed as I thought someone put up about watching out for big teams to start slowly after the international breaks.....

.....well Newcastle taking an early lead & WOW on Norwich v City.....but Spurs, United & Chelsea had no blip.

What about post champions league or europa league games/away trips. Burnley suffered last year and certainly Wolves this year are not the same in the Premiership.....

That was me, I didn’t see any reply so decided to nuke my post.

It’s a phenomenon I observed on matches post Intl break in Sep/Oct in recent years, but not Mar/Apr.

Also PSG were 0-0 until stoppage time and Juventus slipped up, although Juve’s odds were too high for a lay IMHO.

Not looked at any data but from past experience there is probably something here, but probably not much. The problem is that the market already has a habit of pricing this in, in the case of Liverpool yesterday their price nearly doubled before the match even kicked off so the market was already expecting a bit of rotation, and in this case was spot on.

However, the clubs nowadays go to great lengths to try and minimize the effects of jet lag and travel in general, sometimes they even send staff with the players (on holidays too) to make sure they don't overexert themselves etc. In case of friendlies the club managers also like to issue instructions on how much the player should play for their national team, be it 45 mins or 60, but those instructions are not always followed.
