Place betting via each-way and lay the win

I am new to the forums and an occasional Bet Angel user. I am more of a backer than a trader and looking to secure better value on place bets.

My research suggests that the link between Win and Place odds on the exchanges is complex and somewhat unpredictable. Where the place odds look too tight, I am considering trying an each-way back bet instead with an immediate - hopefully automated - lay of the win portion.

I'd guess I am not the first to ask this - apologies to the experts! - but I have had a look around the forums without success. Could someone please point me in the right direction for automation for this move? Also, feel free to tell me if the strategy is flawed too! Thank-you.
