I have noticed that you no longer are required to place a £2 bet on Sky Sports Racing tracks in order to access Live Video, you can just load it up now.
It is due to the new profit share deal that came in at the start of 2020 and is why you can access the pictures for free with William Hill TV and other providers. So rather than bet to watch you now can watch and bet (if you want).
RacingTV tracks still require the minimum bet.
This is from a news article about the deal, so also some Greyhound tracks are covered, I am not sure why this new feature isn't being advertised, at all seemingly:
"The retail element of the deal will include all UK horseracing currently covered by TRP, as well as Australian and South African horseracing and British greyhound racing from Greyhound Media Group tracks."
From what I can figure out the following Horse Racing and Greyhound tracks will be free to access:
Horse Racing:
Ascot
Bangor
Bath
Brighton
Chepstow
Chester
Doncaster
Ffos Las
Fontwell Park
Great Yarmouth
Hereford
Lingfield Park
Newcastle
Sedgefield
Southwell
Uttoxeter
Windsor
Wolverhampton
Worcester
Independent course shown on SSR but not covered by the deal:
Fakenham
Hexam
Newton Abbot
Plumpton
Ripon
Greyhounds:
Belle Vue
Kinsley
Newcastle
Nottingham
Perry Barr
Peterborough
Poole
Sheffield
Sunderland
Swindon
Yarmouth
This is a multi year deal, I can't find out how long it runs for though.
Betfair Live Video - Free to view for SSR tracks (mostly)
No worries, if people notice any errors in the list of tracks, horses and greyhounds, please add a message and I will edit the list. I have pieced the above list together through various news articles and things like wikipedia so there could well be errors.
I did notice this morning that some of the Australian greyhound racing was also being shown for free but I just found this out by accident when I accidentally clicked on a market.
I thought it strange that it hasn't (to me anyway) been advertised by the likes of Betfair, the profit share details would be interesting for how it works with the exchange. I didn't know that it used to be a 1p fee per stream prior to this new deal.
The change has happened it seems unfortunately. The delay is now quite a few seconds worse with BFLV than on SSR. This is likely to have quite an impact on in-running I would think.
This thread from Betfair covers it:

I read on the BF thread discussing this that BF have known about this coming for several months. They only made the announcement last night a matter of hours before the change happened.
The fact they have known about the change for several months but have not found a solution would indicate that one is not forthcoming and this is now the new status quo for the foreseeable future.
It can only mean one thing for inrunning imo and that is a further decline and also a decline on pre race as people will be less inclined to take a pre-race position in running.
Betdaq are still using the faster flash pictures...for now.
Betfair posted this about 20 minutes ago, I haven't tested it yet:
Fingers crossed.
It appears it is still flash based so it could just be a stay of execution until Flash is withdrawn towards the end of 2020 but hopefully that gives time for a solution to be found. We have been able to find a resolution with our Live Video provider. Live Video has now been restored to the latency prior to the degradation at the beginning of the week. Apologies for any inconvenience caused over the past couple of days.
Fingers crossed.
Was still very delayed a couple races ago but thanks for posting this. Great news overall, and just when Betdaq was starting to be slightly more relevant.PDC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 5:33 pmBetfair posted this about 20 minutes ago, I haven't tested it yet:

It has seemingly just been rolled back to how it was before. Unfortunately that isn't a long term solution as Flash is to be stopped in 2020 so more of a stay of execution.
We have had a peak into the future unless they find another solution. They now have a bit longer to find that solution, which hopefully they do.
