Hi all,
Is there any automation out there to scratch trade all UK/Ire races early in the morning when there are nice big gaps (and just a couple of BOTS to avoid)?
I know it's probably trivial but without gaps you are having to leave orders unmatched (which could go against you) or just take a quick £2 stake 1 tick loss - which all mounts up to the bottom line at the end of the year!
Thanks in advance!
Automation - Scratch trade (Horse Racing)
Thanks for getting back to me Dallas.
So to qualify for streaming you need to ensure at least £2 matched on the event.
For someone looking to trade IR, in the morning i go through all the races and find a gap - then quickly place £2 on one side of the book and match my own £2 (thus having £4 matched and qualifying for the stream).
Is this possible to automate for all UK races - does someone already have this?

It's possible to automate quite easily but I didn't think Betfair allowed you self match to get access to the live video?
It used to have to be matched against money from another account
Have you tried it manually to see if it actually allows access?

Can confirm that you can selfmatch just to get the live video, I sometimes do it when in a rush. But not sure whether Betfair would be okay with that tactic long term and fully automated.
Don't see the real need for OP to automate this just to get the live video, if he can manually go through the whole card in a few mins without selfmatching, or before every race like people normally do it, can just find a price with very little money and quickly jump on both sides, rinse and repeat.
Thanks Kai that's interesting to know, I had considered if it were possible BF wouldn't be to happy if people done it all the time, but maybe if they are continuing to bet closer pre-off or in-play they won't be that bothered.Kai wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:07 pmCan confirm that you can selfmatch just to get the live video, I sometimes do it when in a rush. Different aorty for those who do it purely to watch videos though
In regards to automating it you just need a back and lay rule each with a 'relative odds condtion' to test the back price is equal to the lay price minus 2 ticks
The back bet needs to place a bet 1 rick below best market price
the lay bet rules need to place 1 tick above best market price
Both rules would then hit the same price and match against each other
You could also trigger a green up rule armed 1 seconds after 1st rule triggers just in case there was alreadt just under £2 waiting on one side and left most of one side of your two bets unmatched

Don't forget this thread where it is discussed that you no longer need to do this for the SSR tracks and soon you won't need to do it for the RTV tracks either as they are all moving to a watch to bet model v the old bet to watch model:
