Hi,
I have and account with Bet fair and Bet Angel in the UK but I'm not really computer literate so -
If I wanted total anonymity whilst trading abroad would I need both VPS for Bet Angel and VPN for Bet fair?.
And with Bet Angel's VPS would Bet Angel be aware of where I am trading from?
Thank you
Trading abroad
Thanks Dallas. Excuse my ignorance but can you clarify somethings please?
If I were to use Bet Angel's VPS that gives me access all over the world, but would it allow me to log in to my Bet Fair account without showing my location as well? Or do I need to log into my Bet Fair account separately?
Can I use Bet Angel anywhere in the world without using their VPS, and use VPN for Bet Fair?
Finally, if I log into Bet Fair or the authenticator on my mobile phone does it show my location?
Basically what I am asking is, what is the best way to hide my location when trading on Bet Fair through Bet Angel
Thank you

The VPS will allow you to login anywhere in the world, we have many users using it for this reason including Peter whenever he travels abroad.
A VPS is a phsical server (ours are located here in the UK), imagine the VPS is your home PC and you left it on and running 24/7 - it would be the samething.
You can then connect to it remotely from anywhere and do whatever you want on it and Betfair (or anyone else) won't know if you are sat in front of it or connecting to it from the other side of the world.
A VPN is slightly different in that it just hides your IP by routing you through proxy servers, so everything is still installed on your Laptop and its just your connection that gets routed differently so Betfair has no idea where your actual location is.

There are 2 or 3 bookmaker sites like Bet365 which block all incoming connections from a VPS and its not recommended to try and stream a video from one as it will appear a bit jerky due to the screen latency but otherwise you can use it just like you would your own PC.

I've often wondered what happens to unclaimed funds. (Can imagine money laundering with some of those accounts were rife)Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 4:08 pmWhat happens if a customer doesnt withdraw their money by 18th May, they lose it ?![]()
Also, what if someone dies and no one knows they had a betfair account....
When somebody dies there must be quite a lot of money in obscure accounts, like bookies, e-wallets, etc. Credit card companies will make every effort to claim off the estate but I wonder how much effort a bookie would make to return funds to next of kin.wearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 5:46 pmI've often wondered what happens to unclaimed funds. The next of kin would need to know that a family member had a betting account and then go through the following process:Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 5:57 pmWhen somebody dies there must be quite a lot of money in obscure accounts, like bookies, e-wallets, etc. Credit card companies will make every effort to claim off the estate but I wonder how much effort a bookie would make to return funds to next of kin.wearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 5:46 pmI've often wondered what happens to unclaimed funds. However, betting companies could do this easily by cross-checking account holders with registry of deaths. Although I doubt they would and just pocket any monies in a deceased persons account.

Most bookmakers have clauses in their Ts and Cs that allow service charges to be taken from any account unused for a period of time until the balance reaches £0. I assume this is specifically to deal with forgotten and deceased accounts.

The gambling commission should kick their butts of those kind of T&C's.jameegray1 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 7:15 pmMost bookmakers have clauses in their Ts and Cs that allow service charges to be taken from any account unused for a period of time until the balance reaches £0. Betfair have, I think a 13-month account inactivity charge if you don't use it (something I always worry aboutArchery1969 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 8:31 pmThe gambling commission should kick their butts of those kind of T&C's.jameegray1 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 7:15 pmMost bookmakers have clauses in their Ts and Cs that allow service charges to be taken from any account unused for a period of time until the balance reaches £0.
