As opposed to laying the draw of course..
Had great success in certain world cup matches whereby i backed the draw, and layed off throughout the match.
If there was a goal i would look at who scored it and decide whether to hope for an equaliser or lock in the loss which was normally only 30-40% of my stake.
I expect its only 30-40% loss since all the draw layers are now backing the draw and forcing the price back down?
Is it time to BACK the draw?

i think the world cup was a special case, with each match having extreme importance to a teams chance of qualifying and therefore every team would have played carefully, hence the high amount of draws. I'm pretty sure when the domestic leagues start up again the goals will return

Tight matches occur all the time in the domestic league's especially italian and french matches where draws are pretty frequent.
This strategy would obviously only be used on matches with two even teams, you would be crazy to use it on chelsea- blackpool for example!
