Newbie basic question

Being new to bots I am trying to find out if my bot will work when my computer is off and I'm not logged on to the internet. My thoughts are it won't, which means I have to leave my computer logged on all the time?

If you turn you computer off then all activity halts, what you need is a vps, www.betangel.com/vps
