I am a newbie. I gather that if a 'green up' is performed then LAY or BACK stakes are applied across the board to achieve it. But depending on the 'trade profit', number of runners, prices etc, these stakes can quite often be less than the £2 minimum Betfair stake. Do BetAngel have some kind of special agreement to allow stakes t6o be placed at less than the £2 minimum?
Please can someone explain
Thanks
Selina
Betfair Minimum £2 Stake and Greening Up
It's a good question and one I've wondered about myself as well. BetAngel say they set the low limit to £2 as per the Betfair T&C's. Maybe it's £2 if you (or your bot) choose to place a bet and lower if it's all automated and hidden.
There are other platforms out there that will allow you to stake whatever you like but they generally aren't as 'professional' as BetAngel. Staking low is great for systems testing though and It'd be good if BA allowed it.

There is no special agreement - anyone can stake less than £2, you can do it via the website even.
For example you want 10p at 5.0:
Place £2 at 1000.0
Alter the bet to £2.10
Cancel the £2 at 1000.0
Adjust the odds on the 10p bet from 1000.0 to 5.0
You now have 10p going on at 5.0
All Bet Angel does is do the above for you rather than you manually having to do it, it is the same for all other software that is available.
If you want to lay 10p do the same as above but instead of using 1000.0 use 1.01
As I understand it Betfair say the minimum is £2 but as long as you aren't doing sub £2 constantly they are happy to turn a blind eye to it.
